Are there clothing-optional resorts in Palm Springs for couples?
Very few. The three couples-oriented naturist resorts in Palm Springs (the Terra Cotta, Tuscany Manor and Desert Sun) have all closed. In town, only Exotic Dreams admits mixed couples, and it is a lifestyle (swinger) resort. The other options are in Desert Hot Springs (Mi Kasa, Hotel O2, Sea Mountain) and at Glen Eden Sun Club in Temescal Valley, about 75 miles west.
Are there clothing-optional resorts in Desert Hot Springs?
Yes, three: Mi Kasa Hot Springs, Hotel O2 and Sea Mountain Inn. All are adults-only and built around natural hot mineral water.
Can you get a day pass at a clothing-optional resort in Palm Springs?
Yes. Casa Oliver in Warm Sands sells day passes from $25 (Monday–Saturday, 10 am–6 pm), $35 on Sundays and $15 for locals on Tuesdays. In Desert Hot Springs, Hotel O2 sells day passes from noon to 10 pm and Sea Mountain runs a day club for couples and women.
Is the Terra Cotta in Palm Springs still open?
No. The Terra Cotta Clothing Optional Resort and Spa at 555 S Warm Sands Drive was sold and stopped operating as clothing-optional on 7 August 2019. This site is an independent guide and is not connected to it.
What's the difference between clothing-optional and nudist?
A clothing-optional resort lets you choose: swimsuits are fine. A nudist (naturist) resort usually expects nudity in pool areas. Palm Springs has mostly clothing-optional resorts.
Are there clothing-optional Airbnbs in Palm Springs?
Some private rentals in the area advertise themselves as clothing-optional, mostly in Desert Hot Springs. Check the host's rules and how private the pool is from neighbours before you book.
What happens at an adults-only clothing-optional resort?
Mostly sunbathing, swimming, hot tubs and conversation. Each resort sets its own rules on behaviour; naturist resorts forbid sexual activity in common areas, while some men's resorts and lifestyle clubs are more permissive. Our profiles say which is which.
